ABOUT THE SCOTS
I grew up in Lincoln Park Zoo with my Grandpa Joa. He was the OG Cubs mascot back in 1916. Gramps Joa would tell me the most exciting tales of Wrigley Field and the Cubs. Some nights we could hear the roars of the crowd from the stadium. We could see the fireworks exploding every time Sammy Sosa hit a bomb. My love for the Cubs grew and grew every season. I knew I had to escape this place and see Wrigley just once. On January 13, 2014 | saw my opportunity. I ran faster than I ever had before. About 2-3 miles later I made it. It was beautiful. Gramps taught me everything I needed to know, it's my time now.
I got to be with the team for the 2016 World Series win in Cleveland. Man, that was the greatest moment of my life. I'll never forget that. Well now it's 2023 and I'm 21 years old. Of course I had to give up the backward snapbacks and move on to fitteds.
My favorite fitted is from Hat Clubs horror pack, commonly known as the Michael Meyers hat. It's the one l'm wearing in this photo. I wear a 7⅜. l'll see you around.
Before, you even ask "Why aren't you a diamondback?!" How the #$%@ would a snake get around the stadium!? Alright, so now that we got that out of the way, l'Il tell ya why I'm a bobcat. I was created in 2000 in our 3rd season as a franchise. At the time ownership was struggling to figure out what the mascot should be. Infielder Jay Bell came to President Rich Dozer and pitched him an idea from his son who said "Since the Diamondbacks play at the BOB (Bank One Ballpark) why don't we have our mascot be a BOBcat?" President Dozer loved the idea and I was unveiled to the world on June 23, 2000. I guess you could say I was the good luck charm because the very next year in 2001 we won the World Series behind our one-two pitching punch from Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson. Sadly, since then to be blunt, we've been bad.
We've only made the playoffs four times from 2002-2022. However, there is light again, we finally made the playoffs and are on fire. This can be our year to win the World Series again! WHY NOT US???
I was the Yankees mascot from 1979-1981. Still to this day I am the only official mascot the Yankees have had. Sadly, due to unfortunate and awful circumstances, my career never took off like it should have. I was created alongside the Phillie Phanatic by Jim Henson and Bonnie Erickson, famous creators of the Muppets. Because of the Phanatic success I thought I was destined for that stage as well. When I was introduced to the organization though Reggie Jackson just laughed and said "wait till Thurman Munson sees you." Because of my big mustache I drew a striking resemblance to famous catcher at the time Thurman Munson. I gained some favor with the fans because of this. The game before my debut, outfielder Lou Piniella got into a fight with San Diego's chicken mascot. Because of this, Yankees owner George Steinbrenner forbade mascots on the field, and exiled me to the upper deck. did the best I could up there for a few weeks until the final nail in my coffin was placed. The famous catcher that helped us win two World Series and my look alike, Thurman Munson, died in a tragic plane crash. After that, none of the players or team managers wanted anything to do with me. I was let go a short time later. The last 40 years have been dark and lonely. Until Clark showed up at my door and invited me to join the Scots Club. I was shocked he even knew who I was. I guess his Grandpa Joa taught him everything there is about Baseball's history, including me. Maybe one day they'll bring me back. I dream of the day I can go back down on the field, to make fans laugh, and enjoy the ball game together. Even though my time as a mascot didn't work out originally, my love for the Yankees will always be there. We are the greatest franchise in sports history!
I've been a part of the Dodgers fandom since the mid 80's. I am not and do not claim to be an official mascot though, but I still think I'm a pretty big deal! I was the face of the Blue Crew which was the Dodgers kids program. If you signed up you would receive various clothing, cups, hats and the cutest KoaLA stuffed animal. Blue Crew and I hold a special place in many Dodger fans who were kids during the 80's and early 90's. I am the closest thing the Dodgers have had to a mascot. After our World Series victory in 2020 they brought me back on a limited edition bobblehead and I was so happy to make a comeback. Everyone missed me. I've always loved the winning mentality of LA. Every franchise in this town, except the Clippers, knows it's all about winning championships! I wear a 7⅝.
My favorite hat is the black and brown two tone inspired by Nipsey Hussle seen in my picture. Hooroo!
I touched down on Earth on November 2, 2012.Locals in the Houston area still remember that dav because of the paranormal activitv that occurred. That morning baseballs fell from the sky. Green fur began to grow all over the ground covering the sidewalk at city hall. An Astros crop circle appeared on a farm outside of Katy. And lastly, the moon grew seams just like seams on a baseball. Local news channel, KPRC, got exclusive footage of an unidentified object and a green life form at NASA's Rocket Park. The feds quickly made everyone shut the cameras off and loaded the life form into a black motorcade. The motorcade headed to Astros Minute Maid Park and I emerged. My creators sent me here for this purpose. The Astros are everyone's favorite team where I am from and they need the good luck I provide. I am well known around Major League Baseball for my funny pranks and dancing. My favorite food is Moon Pies. My favorite movies are E.T., Men in Black, and Star Wars. My favorite dance is the Moonwalk. I hate Black Holes and Evil Emperors. And I love my new home in Houston.
